Easter comes early this year - March 31! In this workshop kids will craft buttery scones and chelsea buns to share with the family for Easter brunch, the following day. After assembling items during the workshop, they will rise overnight at home and bake up fresh in the morning to fill your home with that incredible fresh-baked bread smell!

 

Date & Time: Saturday, March 30, 2024, 2-3:30 pm

 

Location: Northeast Seattle (Wedgwood, address will be sent with registration)

 

Ages: 7-13

 

What to Expect: In this workshop kids will spend time in the kitchen mixing, rolling and adding raisins to yeasted bread dough for English Chelsea buns as well as mixing and shaping quick bread dough for scones. Baked goods should go in the refrigerator overnight. Instructions will be sent home for how to bake with parent supervision the following day.

 

Children do not need to be accompanied by an adult. Chairs will be available if parents want to stay. Price is per child per class and payment is required at the time of registration. Parents/caretakers are kindly asked to register children at least 24 hours in advance. If a parent/caretaker needs to cancel a class, refunds will be given only if we are notified 24 hours in advance.

 

Your instructor: Katie has been baking for friends, family and strangers as well as teaching adults and kids, professionally and as a volunteer for the past several decades. She has loved working with kids in the kitchen to enhance their cooking and baking skills in Rise Up Bakers monthly workshops over the past year. She can't wait to help kids feel confident and capable in the kitchen with these jaw dropping contributions to the brunch table.
